remove.es is a tool that removes the background from images you choose to upload. You are solely responsible for the images you provide and for how you use the results. By using the Service you fully accept these Terms.
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of remove.es (the “Service”), owned by José Antonio Ramos Miralles (the “Owner”), whose details appear in the Legal Notice. Any use of the Service, even occasional, implies full and unreserved acceptance of these Terms. If you do not accept them, you must not use the Service.
The Service is an automated technical instrument. Its only function is to receive an image file provided by the user, process it through an AI model running on the Owner’s servers, and return the result. The Owner:
Accordingly, responsibility for the content and for the use of the results lies entirely and exclusively with the user.
To use the Service you must be at least 14 years old (13 in the United States) and have sufficient legal capacity. If you are a minor, you must have your parent or guardian’s consent. The Service is not directed at children below those ages.
You retain full ownership of the images you upload and of the results. The Owner acquires no rights over them.
Solely to provide the Service, you grant a limited, temporary, free and revocable licence to automatically store and process your image for the time strictly necessary to return the result, after which it is automatically deleted. This licence permits no other use: images are not published, not shared with third parties, and not used to train models.
By uploading an image, you represent and warrant that:
It is strictly forbidden to use the Service to upload, process or generate images that:
Also prohibited: (i) automated, bulk or abusive use exceeding reasonable personal use or circumventing technical limits; (ii) attempting to access, alter or damage the Owner’s systems; and (iii) reselling or exploiting the Service without authorisation, except via the API on any agreed terms.
The Owner applies a zero-tolerance policy. Any illegal image — especially child sexual abuse material or non-consensual intimate images — that comes to the Owner’s knowledge will be reported to law enforcement and the competent authorities. The Owner will cooperate with the justice system and will retain and provide, where legally required, the technical information in its possession. Using the Service for illegal purposes may result in criminal and civil liability for the infringing user.
To report allegedly illegal content: hola@remove.es.
The result is generated automatically and may contain inaccuracies (imperfect edges, wrong cut-outs, etc.). The Service does not guarantee a result fit for any particular purpose. The user must review the result before using it and assumes the consequences of its use.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, as to continuity, absence of errors, fitness for a purpose or quality of the result. The Owner may suspend, limit or interrupt the Service, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Owner shall not be liable for indirect damages, loss of profit, loss of data, or damage arising from the use or inability to use the Service, nor for the use the user or third parties make of the images or results. As this is a free service, the Owner’s liability is limited to cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits the Owner’s liability for damages that the law does not permit to exclude, nor any mandatory consumer rights, which remain unaffected.
The user shall hold the Owner harmless against any claim, penalty or damage (including reasonable legal defence costs) arising from breach of these Terms, unlawful use of the Service, or infringement of third-party rights through the images uploaded or the use made of the results.
The code, brand, design and other elements of the Service belong to the Owner or are used under licence. The user is granted no rights over them beyond using the Service in accordance with these Terms.
If you believe content accessible through the Service infringes your intellectual property rights, you may notify hola@remove.es, identifying the work, the allegedly infringing content and your contact details. The Owner will address well-founded complaints, including those submitted under applicable copyright law (including, for US users, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act).
The Owner may amend these Terms to reflect legal or Service changes. The current version is always the one published on this page, with its update date.
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. Where the user is a consumer, the courts of the user’s domicile shall have jurisdiction; otherwise, and unless mandatory law provides otherwise, those of the Owner’s domicile. Consumers may also use the European online dispute resolution platform.
